At winter’s dawn Dev Bros. was getting ready for a dream. It will be North India’s biggest tailoring shop. A big feather in the sartorial cap of Kotkapura. The challenge was that they were using a mnemonic (a silhouette of a man wearing a hat) for nearly twenty years. This mnemonic along with a more traditional font was what had represented Dev Bros. since its inception.
Dev Bros. has been one of a kind tailoring shop for gentlemen who look for perfection in their clothing. They come from far flung towns such as Abohar, Muktsar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Moga and Chandigarh (and sometimes from Canada, New Zealand and US) to get that perfect stitch.
The challenge for Brandstreet, Kotkapura was to create a new logo that will justify replacing their existing identity.
Being exceptionally bold and confident, Dev Bros. had to be represented with a bolder identity. A stark pair of scissors did just what was required. If you look closer, the pair of scissors can also be looked upon as small letter d and b – the initials of Dev Bros.
Along with the new icon, the typeface created by Brandstreet, Kotkapura was also tailor-made for Dev Bros. Just as they would like it.
Consisting of smooth curves and sharp edges, the Dev Bros. typeface takes inspiration from how all great suits are stitched.
